Thirty years ago, Claus Van Doren pushed ink through a screen for the very first time. His uncle then owned an up-and-coming shoe company called Vans, and appointed Claus the head of the Art Department. Over the next few years, custom printing became “the next big thing” and Vans exploded with custom printed fabrics and printed shoe rubber. Claus was fortunate enough to learn all about this new market as it unfolded before him. As time passed, Claus printed banners, posters, stickers, displays, t-shirts, and shoes for the Vans company stores and the rapidly expanding National Sales Division at Vans.
In 1989 Claus left Vans to pursue his dream of owning his own printing company. In 1991, Claus opened “Imagine Displays Inc”. While living the American dream of owning his own business, he was also raising a promising young boy who shared his passion for printing. After watching his dad, learning the ropes, Claus’ son John printed his first shirt for profit at the age of 8! As John grew older, his talent for printing became apparent. He opened his own company called “Trapped Graphics” in 2002.
After working independently for 8 years, Claus and John joined forces to maximize their capabilities. Today, John and Claus own and operate Imagine Printworks in Placentia, CA and work with companies such as Vans, Monster, Red Bull, Paul Mitchell, Nintendo, San Disk, Kat Von D the famous tattoo artist, as well as the hit rock band Atreyu. With knowledge of commercial screen printing & displays, as well as apparel printing, together Claus and John bring over 40 years of experience to the printing business.
